For fisherpersons that live in the Northwest or those planning on visiting, there are year- round opportunities to catch many different fish of the Northwest. From chinook salmon, sturgeon, halibut, trout, bass, walleye, tuna and others there is something biting year round. At www.fishingguidesnorthwest.com we know what is biting, where they are biting, and a the right guide to put you with if you choose to go with a guide. Let our 25 plus years of guiding and fishing help you to find the right guide or just get to the right place to fish. Right now our primary fishery is for Chinook Salmon in Tillamook and Nehalem Bay, the Pacific Ocean, the Siletz bay and river system. We also have a few days left for halibut in the Pacific Ocean out of Newport and Iwaco Wa. For those that don't mind catch and release there is some awsome fishing on the Columbia River just out of Portland with guides averaging ten to twenty chinook to the boat per day. Some walleye are still available, but productive fishing will slow with the cooler weather. Silver salmon and chinook are available on some of the inland streams in both Oregon and Washington. With the last rainfall we will see more fish move into the coastal streams, however we will need more rain before we start doing driftboat trips in these rivers. Late October, November and early december are great times for a float trip on our coastal streams. Also by Thanksgiving our winter steelhead start showing up on the coastal rivers. Summer steelhead remains spotty on the Deschutes, however should improve with cooler weather and cooler water tempuratures.
